A new version of
EXTON Linux MultibootCD is ready. Changes: New versions of Slax, Puppy Linux, Parted Magic, 4MLinux and SliTaz. I have removed three systems, namely Netboot.me, CDlinux and xPUD. The new version is therefore called EXTON Linux MultiBootCD 6-OS.

The following six (6) Linux Systems:
1. Exton MiniSlack (Slax 7.0) with KDE 4.9.3, Firefox 17.0.1 and kernel 3.6.7-exton >> Screenshot
Exton MiniSlack can be installed to hard disk, which isn't possible with Slax 7.0. Follow this INSTRUCTION - replace "kernel vmlinuz-3.6.2-exton" with "kernel vmlinuz-3.6.7-exton".
2. Puppy Linux (Slacko 5.3.3-4g) >> Screenshot
Puppy Slacko uses unique Puppy scripts. Puppy loads and runs fast, entirely from Ram. Puppy has optimised programs and wizards.
3. Tiny Core 4.0 >> Screenshot
Tiny Core Linux is a very small (10 MB) minimal Linux GUI Desktop. It is based on Linux 2.6 kernel, Busybox, Tiny X, and Fltk. The core runs entirely in ram and boots very quickly.
4. Parted Magic 20121010 >> Screenshot
The Parted Magic OS employs core programs of GParted and Parted to handle partitioning tasks with ease, while featuring other useful programs (e.g. Clonezilla, Partimage, TestDisk, Truecrypt, G4L, SuperGrubDisk, ddrescue, etc...).
5. 4MLinux Allinone-Edition 5.0 >> Screenshot
4MLinux is a miniature Linux distribution focusing on four capabilities: maintenance (by using it as a system rescue live CD), multimedia (for example, for playing video DVDs),miniserver (using the inetd daemon), and mystery (meaning console games).
6. SliTaz 4.0 stable >> Screenshot
SliTaz is a free operating system, working completely in RAM and booting from removable media such as a cdrom or USB key. The system is quick and responsive, clean and robust. SliTaz is simple and intuitive, providing a lightweight, elegant desktop, detailed documentation and easy to use configuration tools.

EXTON distributions: The number of Exton distributions has decreased from 66 (all time high in June 2011) to 16. See a complete LIST. It was a bit too much for me to keep 66 distributions up to date. All Exton distributions on the Swedish Linux Society's FTP Server can be reached HERE. Thirteen (13) Exton distributions in English (English locale) can also be dowloaded from SourceForge.net. |
